Temple History
The Bala Ugra Narasimha Swamy Temple, which opened in 2022 in Yerravaram village, has a fascinating and spiritually significant origin story. According to local legend, the temple's establishment was inspired by the divine intervention of Lord Narasimha, as revealed in the dreams of a young child from the village.
The child, deeply devoted to Lord Narasimha, had recurring dreams where the Lord appeared in his fierce (Ugra) form, guiding him to the location of an ancient and forgotten temple site in the nearby hills, known locally as "Dullagutta." In the dreams, Lord Narasimha conveyed that the temple must be revived and rebuilt so that the village could experience divine blessings and protection.
The child's visions were so vivid and consistent that the village elders, moved by the story, decided to investigate the site. Upon exploration, they discovered remnants of an ancient temple, validating the child's dreams. Seeing this as a divine sign, the village community, with the help of devotees and donors, embarked on a mission to reconstruct the temple.
By 2022, after much effort and devotion, the Bala Ugra Narasimha Swamy Temple was completed and officially opened. The temple is now a significant pilgrimage destination for devotees of Lord Narasimha, who visit to seek protection, blessings, and spiritual strength. The story of the temple's origin continues to inspire faith and devotion in the region, and the temple itself stands as a symbol of divine intervention and the power of devotion.
